The Cowardly Critic
"Before you criticize people, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away. And you have their shoes." ~ JK Lambert

Belle and Sebastian, The Life Pursuit (2006)
A few quick words on one of my favourite albums of last year. Light, breezy indie pop from one of Scotland's best bands. I think it's their strongest album yet.
The Life Pursuit finds Belle and Sebastian dishing out another selection of wistful, whimsical and literate songs, the sound is perhaps clearer than on earlier albums and the melodies are less varied. But the currents running through the album are fun and, as usual, B & S mix upbeat melodies with moody, intelligent lyrics to great effect.
They hate being labelled twee but I say embrace the tweeness and boogie on down.
